4th UNESCO Asia Pacific Network Annual Conference on the Chemistry of Natural Products and 4th PANDA Alliance in Shanghai, China

From November 29 to December 2, 2023, the Shanghai Institute of Medicinal Herbs - Chinese Academy of Sciences, hosted 4th UNESCO Asia Pacific Network on the Chemistry of Natural Products and 4th PANDA Alliance in Shanghai, China. Attending the conference were 21 countries and more than 100 experts and scholars from the region. The Vietnamese delegation attending the conference included Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Long, Chairman of the Institute of Natural Products Chemistry – Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

This conference focused on the topic of scientific and technological innovation process and mechanisms for transferring research results in the field of natural products and discovery of new drug development in different countries, as well as further promoting exchanges between scientific research organizations,  universities and researchers, enterprises in natural product research and new drug development between China, the Pan-Balkans countries and the Asia-Pacific region. The conference restarts the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Network on Natural Products Chemistry.

Vietnam is a member of the UNESCO network in Southeast Asia, so scientists of VAST in particular and Vietnam in general always support the promotion of international cooperation with the motto of equality, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and traditional medicine knowledge applied in life, for human health.
